Answer: 1800 gallons a day!! Typically the soil gets saturated quickly causing additional water to run off the lawn into the sewer system and be wasted. Much of this water does not make it to the roots due to this run off. One way to overcome this overwatering and runoff is through "cycle and soak." In this we turn a zone on for a short time, let the water soak deeply into the soil, then run it one or more times again with short cycles. We use this and many other tools to reduce your water consumption.
Answer: The SmartProgram™ involves a comprehensive assessment of your irrigation system, including the installation of a weather-based, smart controller. This controller optimizes watering schedules based on many factors, leading to significant water savings.

Answer: City water comes from a city main to your home. Most residential irrigation systems have a line in the basement dedicated to the irrigation system. That irrigation line then must be connected to an exterior backflow valve, typically a Pressure Vacuum Breaker. This prevents your irrigation system water from backing up into your drinking water in the house. The water from the backflow valve then goes to multiple stations (zones) each of which is responsible for watering a different part of your lawn.
Once the irrigation system is turned on, using an irrigation controller, water flows to the zone which is turned on. Typically that is Zone 1 and it is often in your frort yard. The controller runs the zone for a predetermined amount of time before water it is turned off after which Zone 2 then comes on. This continues for all your zones. A residential yard typically has from 4 to 8 zones. Larger yards with well-designed systems may go up to 13 or 14 zones with the same controller. Watering length is programmed into the controller and is different for each zone. The time is dependent on the soil, climate, whether rain has occurred, the type of head used, the amount of shade, and slope,
Answer: Yes and no. If you are very mechanically oriented, then with a lot of research and experimentation you could install a simple irrigation system. However, it will be less likely to work effectively over the long run, may waste a significant amount of water, particularly over multiple seasons, and may be more difficult to repair due to amateur design. Installing an irrigation system requires a base-level knowledge of the form and function of different irrigation heads, valves, piping, and controllers. Take the guess work out of it. Let us help you make your irrigation system one that provides your yard with just the right amount of water for it it be something you are proud of.
Answer: Leaks are definitely problems to be dealt with immediately and big leaks are big issues! One can lose thousands of gallons a day from one leak! In addition, a leak can erode the soil and create a large hole in your yard.
Answer: Our irrigation system is designed with advanced technology that optimizes water flow by delivering precise amounts of water to specific areas of your yard. This targeted approach minimizes water waste and ensures that your grass receives just the right amount of water it needs, reducing water consumption significantly compared to traditional irrigation methods. Additionally, our system includes features such as weather-based controllers, allowing for automatic adjustments based on your specific lawn's environmental conditions to further enhance water conservation efforts.
We love our customers, so call and set an appointment for us to come to evaluate your irrigation system and/or collect water samples to protect your family.
